CLAYTON, N.Y. — If the weather cooperates, the 2026 Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River has the potential to be another record-breaking smallmouth bonanza. To do this, 2022 Rookie of the Year Jay Przekurat believes Lake Ontario will be the place to make that happen. “I’m expecting huge weights. Possibly the most we’ve ever […]

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — He called it love at first sight and that instant attraction, deepened by its subsequent bond-building, delivered Bryan Schmitt’s third blue trophy with his four-day winning total of 81 pounds, 7 ounces in the SPRO Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain. The seasoned pro from Deale, Md., first fished this picturesque natural lake […]

After taking the Day 1 lead with 23 pounds, 2 ounces, the pro from Toowoomba, Australia added a second-round […]

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — The question was asked repeatedly and Carl Jocumsen answered conclusively. Will largemouth bass play a significant role in the SPRO Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain? That would be a “yes,” perhaps followed by the traditional “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi, oi, oi!” Sacking up a limit of big Champlain green ones that weighed […]

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — Brandon Palaniuk has made many memories on Lake Champlain, but most of them will have little practical application during the SPRO Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain. Competition days will be August 13-16 with daily takeoffs from Plattsburgh City Marina at 7 a.m. ET and weigh-ins each day at the marina at 3 […]
